The makers of Sanju released the latest poster of the film on Saturday, a stirring depiction of the father-son dynamics between Sanjay Dutt and his late father Sunil Dutt. Ranbir Kapoor, essaying Sanjay Dutt, appears vulnerable, while Paresh Rawal looks every bit the supporting father that Sunil Dutt was.
#sanju is a father-son story. Meet the father today - Paresh Rawal. Had fun working with him. #RanbirKapoor @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi @SirPareshRawal pic.twitter.com/GXWYaNBvm3

Earlier, actor Aamir Khan had said that he was approached for the role of Sunil Dutt, but he turned it down because he badly wanted to play Sanjay Dutt.
Ranbir Kapoor appears in several well-recognised avatars, from the long-haired days of the Bollywood heartthrob to his recent appearances. From the opening shot of the trailer, when he steps out of the jail doors, the resemblance is uncanny; Ranbir's efforts to get into Sanjay Dutt's shoes seem to have paid off. We have to admit Sanjay Dutt's real and reel life has been a roller coaster ride, and director Rajkumar Hirani tries to capture these moments with a dramatic honesty. Sanju will hopefully shed light on the life of Sanjay Dutt, the person.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer is all set to release on June 29 this year. Sanju will delve deep into the many ups and downs in the life of Bollywood's superstar. Hirani shares a special bond with Sanjay Dutt considering the fact that he directed two of Sanjay Dutt's much-loved comeback films—Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
