Dileep row: AMMA to hold talks with WCC members on August 7

AMMA-WCC rift intensifies, more women up the ante

After much hullabaloo, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has scheduled a date to hold talks with members of Women in Cinema Collective (WCC).

AMMA members will reportedly meet actors Revathy, Parvathy and Padmapriya on August 7. The meeting is being held in response to an open letter by WCC after AMMA announced that actor Dileep will be taken back in the association. The letter was written by Revathy, Parvathy and Padmapriya after AMMA's decision on Dileep at general body meeting held on June 24.

They wrote, “AMMA had extended their full support. But the decision in the last meeting was against this. Under this circumstance, a special meeting should be convened to clarify its stand. AMMA should keep their promise to extend their support to the actress, who survived the attack.”

Actor Mohanlal, the newly appointed president of AMMA, had said at a press conference recently that the artists' organisation was ready to discuss the matter.
