Soon, it will be that time of the year again when the state of Tamil Nadu will deck up to celebrate the annual harvest festival of Pongal. The celebration of Pongal can never be complete without big releases and people queuing up to cheer their favorite stars in action.
This year too, there are two huge Kollywood films set for release for Pongal—Viswasam starring Ajith and Petta starring Rajinikanth.
Petta is the superstar's first Pongal release in 24 years.

The trailer Petta, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, was released on Friday while the trailer of Viswasam was released on Sunday.
Petta promises a throwback to the Rajini days of 90s, and has enough moments to suit the tastes of his younger band of fans. The two-and-a-half minute long trailer is full of stylish action, one liners, some comedy and drama, a lot of which the fans have been missing since the 90s blockbusters like Baasha and Annamalai. The movie boasts of an impressive line of stars including Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Simran and M. Sasikumar.

After Vivegam, Vedhalam and Veeram, Ajith teams up with Siva once again for Viswasam, an action entertainer also starring Nayanthara.
If the trailer is anything to go by, Viswasam promises plenty of action and fun as Ajith dons the role of Thooku Durai, a local don in Theni. “Brothers' let us rock it,” Ajith says in one of the scenes in the trailer, giving enough indications that the fans will not be disappointed with this festival release.
