Ajith's Pongal release Viswasam may not have found favour with the critics as the movie received average reviews, but the box office collection of the film indicates that Viswasam managed to impress movie goers.
According to media reports, the movie, which released along with Rajinikanth starrer Petta, crossed Rs 180 crore mark in the box office worldwide. Viswasam was directed by Siva who had teamed up with Ajith earlier for Veeram, Vivegam and Vedalam.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala announced the news on Twitter. "At the end of 3rd weekend, #Thala #Ajith 's #Viswasam has grossed ₹ 180+ Crs at the WW Box Office.. This is huge, considering the clash and a single lang version release," he tweeted.
Viswasam also stars Nayanthara, Jagapathi Babu and Vivek in the lead.
KJR Studios, the distributor of Viswasam, had reportedly claimed that the movie was a blockbuster as it was doing well in Sri Lanka and Malaysia as well.
This is impressive considering the movie had faced tough competition from Petta which was celebrated by the fans of the superstar and others alike as the movie, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, was replete with Rajinisms that sent the fans into a frenzy.
