What do Rajinikanth and Avengers have in common? Of course, both of them are capable of saving the universe on any given day. But it now appears the two have more in common than we thought.
Director of Avengers: End Game, Joe Russo, who is currently in India to promote the movie, claimed that the climax of Avengers: Age of Ultron was inspired by Robot (Enthiran), starring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

According to media reports, the Avengers: Endgame director told during a press conference that the climatic moments in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which was directed by Joss Whedon, was inspired by Robot. "In one of the final scenes, all the Ultrons were supposed to form a large Ultron and Avengers were set to fight that but the sequence got cut for time. It was this close. It was inspired directly by Robot," he was quoted as saying.
The Tamil and Telugu versions of Avengers: End Game will be released end of April.
Enthiran, directed by S. Shankar, is about how a Dr. Vasi (played by Rajinikanth), a brilliant scientist who builds a robot (Chitti, also played by Rajinikanth) to protect people. Things go wrong when Chitti is given the ability to comprehend and exhibit human emotions and falls in love with Vasi's girlfriend.
