Putting an end to speculations on the health condition of veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor, filmmaker Rahul Rawail took to Facebook to announce that the actor is 'cancer free'.

Sharing a photograph with the actor, Rawail wrote: “Rishi Kapoor (Chintu) is cancer free!”.

In September last year, Rishi Kapoor had left to the US, and not divulged much details. In a tweet, he told fans that he was taking a leave of absence from work for some 'medical treatment'. “I urge my well wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years “plus”of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes,I will be back soon!,” he wrote.

Ever since the tweet, there were rumours of Rishi Kapoor being diagnosed with cancer, which the family refuted. His elder brother Randhir Kapoor, in an interview, said people can say whatever they want to. At regular intervals, pictures of Rishi Kapoor spending time with Neetu Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor in the US, would surface. Fuelling speculations of cancer again, Neetu Kapoor had captioned a photograph: Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign.
