Actor-turned-politician Prakash Raj is known to speak his mind when it comes to matters of politics.

During his election campaign, Prakash Raj, a vocal critic of Modi and the BJP government, had taken on the BJP leaders who sought votes in the name of PM Narendra Modi and said instead of asking people to vote for them to make sure Modi comes back to power, they should start working for the people.

Pony Verma, wife of Prakash Raj, has now come out, asking PM Modi to refrain from asking people from the film industry to help boost the party's prospects in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. “Requesting Mr. PM to leave our film industry & don’t use them for your elections. I understand their position, even if they don’t want to, how can they say no to you. I won’t be surprised that the last final day you ll have interview done with one of the Khans!!! Plz spare them,” she tweeted.

The Lok Sabha elections has been witnessing a slew of Bollywood celebrities and celebrities from other industries taking sides and even venturing into electoral politics. While actors like Anupam Kher, and Vivek Oberoi, Sunny Deol and Kangana Ranaut have come out in support of the BJP and PM Modi, Urmila Matondkar joined the Congress to fight polls. Swara Bhaskar, another vocal BJP detractor, has been part of the election campaigns of Kanhaiya Kumar.
