With just days left for the release of Vivek Oberoi-starrer PM Narendra Modi, the makers released another trailer. This also comes in the backdrop of exit polls that have predicted a sweeping victory for the Modi-led NDA. The film will release on May 24, a day after results of Lok Sabha elections are announced.
The trailer focuses on Modi's childhood, his struggles, political life and journey to being India's prime minister. Vivek Oberoi, who essays Modi, mouths a few powerful dialogues that take a dig at unemployment and corruption during the UPA rule, with references to the Gandhi family and even former prime minister Manmohan Singh's silence. The trailer also shows the Gujarat riots. Key characters like Amit Shah, Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh make an appearance in the trailer.
Directed by Omung Kumar of Mary Kom fame, the film, initially scheduled for release on April 5, was stalled by the Election Commission. The EC was of the opinion that the biopic will hamper level-playing field during the Lok Sabha elections.
