Mohanlal fans were in for a surprise on Monday when the veteran actor took to Facebook to announce what seems like second part of his recent hit Lucifer. Actor Prithviraj, who marked his directorial debut with Lucifer, also took to social media to share the same.

Speculations about a sequel to the film had been doing the rounds for a while now. In a media interaction earlier, Prithviraj had said he had certain ideas about the sequel, and that work was on. He had also said that the sequel would be in the backdrop of a larger canvas, and a higher budget.
Apart from Mohanlal, Lucifer featured an impressive line of stars, including Tovino Thomas, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, Indrajith, Mamta Mohandas and Manju Warrier. In the political thriller, Mohanlal played Stephen Nedumbally and Prithviraj made a surprise entry as Saeed Massod. Scripted by Murali Gopy, Lucifer, was bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
