As Kamal Hassan entered the stage at the Bigg Boss set today, the internet was awash in rumours as to who the 16 contestants will be who will occupy the house at Chennai’s EVP film city.
For three months, these contestants will have to live together in a flamboyantly-designed house under the watchful eyes of several cameras, facing multiple challenges designed to push their patience to the limits. Last year, the winner of Bigg Boss Season 2 Tamil, Riythvika, took home Rs. 50 lakh in prize money.
With the Season 3 premiere expected on VijayTV and on streaming platform Hotstar at 8pm tonight, here is the list of 15 contestants confirmed by an internal source to be entering the Bigg Boss 3 Tamil set tonight:

Details about the contestants
Abhirami Venkatachalam:
An actress, she made her acting debut in Kalavu (2019) with Kalaiyarasan and Karunakaran. She is also known for her role in the Web Series Ctrl Alt Delete.
Director Cheran: He is a four-time National Award winner, known for the movies Vetri Kodi Kattu (2000), Autograph (2004) and Thavmai Thavamirundhu (2005). He also directed Desiya Geetham (1998) which depicted a water crisis in a village, much like what many parts of Tamil Nadu are facing now.
Paruthiveeran Saravanan: A leading actor from the 1990s, he is known for films like Paruthiveeran, for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2008.
Chandini Tamilarasan: A film actress from both the Tamil and Telugu industries, she made her debut in Siddhu +2 (2010) and played a role in Naan Rajavaga Pogiren (2013).
Fathima Babu: A former news anchor from Doordarshan, she has also starred in multiple Malayalam and Tamil films.
Sakshi Agarwal:
An actress with multiple advertisements and movies to her credit, she is also an Instagram star with over 1.6 lakh followers. She will be one to look out for in the viewer polls for Big Boss Season 3.
Vanitha Vijayakumar: She is the daughter of veteran film actor Vijaykumar and Manjula. In 2018, her father filed an eviction notice against her for illegally staying in a house belonging to him. She disputed the claim, but was forcibly evicted. She made her film debut in Chandralekha (1995) opposite Vijay.
Jaangiri Madhumitha: A star from the comedy show, Lollu Sabha, she has acted in films like Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (2012) and Kan Pesum Vaarthaigal (2013).
Power Star Srinivasan: This one needs no introduction, Power Star Srinivasan has frequently made headlines for controversial reasons, going to prison on multiple occasions on charges of cheating. In 2018, he and his wife were kidnapped and released on ransom in Udhagamandalam.
Tharshan Thiyagarajah
A professional model based out of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, he was Mister Srilanka for Mister International in 2014. He has acted in the film Verenna Vendum (2018).
Kavin: A TV serial actor, he has appeared in Kana Kaanum Kaaangal, playing Lord Shiva, and in Saravanan Meenatchi. He hosted Kings of Dance Season 2 as well as the Vijay Television Awards.
Sandy Master: A popular dance choregrapher, he made his name in the dance reality show Manada Mayilada in its first season. He has choreographed shows in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. He became the father of a baby girl in May of 2018 with his wife Sylvia.
Mohan Vaidhya: A Carnatic singer, a violinist and an actor, he will easily be able to entertain the other housemates and charm the audience with his talents.
Mugen Rao:
He is another one of the popular contestants, with over 1.7 lakh followers on Instagram. He is a Malaysia based artist signed with IBP Studios. His websites lists him as Mugen Rao ‘MGR’, a multi-talented creative arts practitioner.
Sherin: She starred in Thulluvadho Ilamai (2002) as well as in. Darshan (2002). However, her next few films performed poorly, and she took a long hiatus from acting thereafter.
Keeping true to the show’s tagline, “This is not just a show, this is our life,” season 3 promises to showcase a diverse cast of personalities and people.
The controversy around the show has already begun, as earlier, a plea was filed in the Madras High Court seeking to prevent the show from being broadcast on account of ‘abusive content’ with the petitioner, advocate K. Suthan, claiming the show used such content to increase TRP ratings while avoiding social responsibility.
