Festivals in Tamil Nadu usually bring along box office clashes of major stars. It was Rajinikanth's Petta vs Ajith's Viswasam during Pongal earlier this year. Now, Kollywood is reportedly gearing up for two major releases, come Diwali.
According to media reports, it will be a Vijay vs Vijay Sethupathi affair this Diwali. Sanga Tamizhan, starring 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and Bigil, starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay are expected to be released during Diwali.
Sanga Tamizhan, directed by Vijay Chandar will have Vijay Sethupathi playing a dual role for the first time. Vijay Chandar's earlier movies, Vaalu and Sketch, hadn't done all that well in the box office. The movie is touted to be an mass masala entertainer. Sanga Tamizhan also stars Raashi Khanna, Nivetha Pethuraj, Nassar and Soori in the lead roles.

Vijay, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of Bigil, directed by Atlee, with whom he has previously collaborated in Mersal and Theri. While the previous two collaborations were action flicks, Bigil is a sports drama. A few days ago, Vijay was in the news for singing a song for the movie. The music for the movie is composed by A.R. Rahman. Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Vivek and Daniel Balaji are the other actors in the movie.
Both the actors have a huge fan following in Tamil Nadu as well as outside. It will be interesting to see which Vijay will rule the box office this Diwali.
However, an official confirmation on the release of both these movies are still awaited.
