Mollywood's young hearthrob Shane Nigam has a huge following—both for his realistic performances and his hairstyle, too. And now, a haircut has triggered a major controversy with Shane accusing producer Joby George of threatening him because the actor got a haircut. Shane went live on Facebook on Wednesday to share his woes with fans, and has also submitted a written complaint to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes( AMMA) on the same.
In the video, Shane says he is reaching out to fans for the first time because is helpless and has no clue whom to approach. After completing the first schedule of Veyil, produced by Joby, Shane had started work on another film, Qurbaani. For Qurbaani, Shane slightly trimmed his hair. In the Facebook live video, Shane goes on to say that Joby, who saw a photograph of the actor in the new hairdo, started threatening him because he changed his look which he said would affect the continuity of Veyil. According to reports, the producer of Qurbaani tried to convince Joby that Shane has not had a massive makeover but in fact just gelled down his hair.
In his official letter to AMMA, Shane alleged that Joby has threatened to end his career, and not even allow him to stay in the state. Shane also wrote that he fears for his life, and that if anything goes wrong, Joby be held responsible.
Meanwhile, producer Joby has denied all allegations, and said he has been down with fever for the past six days. Joby and makers of Veyil are expected to hold a press conference regarding the same on Friday, Manorama reported.
