Actor Manju Warrier has reportedly filed a complaint against Odiyan director Shrikumar Menon. Warrier had played a role in Odiyan, which failed to perform as well as expected at the box office, and the duo have collaborated on different projects before. A report in The New Indian Express claimed a complaint has been filed with Kerala Police Chief Loknath Behera alleging humiliation by defamation on social media, and threats against friends.
"I was a victim of a cyber attack on social media after the release of Odiyan. Since then, I used to get defamatory messages. Though I had overcome this crisis, Menon is again creating trouble against me. Now, I am afraid that he may harm me," the publication quoted the complaint.
Multiple reports in different Malayalam media quarters also claimed that the actress raised concerns of threats to life from the director, and misuse of her letterhead. THE WEEK could not independently confirm any of the reports.
In a Facebook post, Menon wrote that he was a law-abiding citizen and that he got to know of the complaint only through news reports. "I will completely cooperate with the investigation and help uncover the truth."
