Emotions are running high on Indian Idol 11, but in a good, festive way. In a teaser video released by Sony channel, a contestant by the name Diwas is seen sharing his Diwali memories, and singer and judge Neha Kakkar turns emotional, but gifts him Rs 1 lakh to visit his family for the festive occasion.
Diwas is seen on stage, sharing his feelings over how the audience have accepted him since his performance in the audition round and how much support he receives from the people in his hometown in Jharkhand. He goes on to talk about how legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had praised his talent and tweeted about him in support.
When asked what his plans for Diwali were, Diwas becomes emotional and reveals that he hasn't been home in the past six years, and has been working. He says that he would be working no matter what festival it was, and, during Diwali, he could only hear the crackers being burst outside the canteen where he worked.
Neha Kakkar tells Diwas that she wants him to go home for Diwali, and to fulfill this wish, she is gifting him Rs 1 lakh to celebrate Diwali with his family. She adds that sdhe would like him to take sweets, Diwali presents and clothes for his family, and to take a flight to visit them.
Diwas is seen thanking her and goes on to sing the song ‘Ishq Sufiyana’ from the movie The Dirty Picture. Judge Vishal Dadlani also praises Diwas for his “pure heart” which reflects in his performance.
