The rags to riches story of singer Ranu Mondal can arguably be termed inspirational. Mondal, who used to earn a living by singing in trains, was spotted by a Facebook user who uploaded a video of her singing. Many, including Bollywood biggies, were impressed by her, and fame came on her way as she was offered chances to sing with the likes of Himesh Reshammiya.
Mondal has the social media users to thank for her fame and fortune.
However, the singer seems to have irked many social media users after she brushed off a person who tapped on her shoulder.
In a video that is going viral, a woman is seen approaching Mondal and tapping on her shoulder presumably with the intention of clicking a selfie with the singer. Sure, nobody likes to have their personal space invaded by strangers.
Apparently irritated by the woman's behaviour, the singer is seen returning the tap, and asking “Yeh kya hota hai.”
However, it is the manner in which Mondal reacted to the woman that has offended a section of social media users. Many accused her of behaving like a celebrity.
"Don't touch me, I'm celeb now : Ranu Mondal. We made her celebrity and now see her attitude," wrote one user.
"Don't touch me I'm famous," wrote another user, sharing the video.
