Ranu Mondal trolled for putting heavy make-up, pictures go viral

Singing sensation Ranu Mondal has yet again hit the headlines for the wrong reasons. Pictures of Ranu, whose extraordinary talents catapulted her to overnight fame, were doing the rounds on social media, in which she is seen in heavy make-up, prompting trolls to mock her looks and share memes.

According to reports, Ranu was present at the inauguration of beauty parlour in Uttar Pradesh, and her photos, from after a make-up session, made it to social media. The make-up artist had added layers of foundation on her face to lighten her skin tone, sparking a huge debate among netizens over Ranu's new look.

Many shared memes and trolled the singer for the outrageous make-up, comparing her to ‘The Nun’ from the ‘Conjuring’ franchise, while others came in her defence, saying that the make-up artist was at fault here.

Ranu was recently in the news after a video surfaced on social media, showing her getting irritated with a fan over a selfie. The fan, who wanted a selfie with the singer, tapped on her shoulder, but was told off by Ranu for touching her. Netizens had bashed her for her “attitude” and for “behaving like a celebrity”.

Ranu used to earn a living by singing in trains, when her talents caught the attention of a Facebook user, who uploaded a video on social media of her singing. She was compared to the likes of Lata Mangeshkar, and before long, opportunities came knocking at her door.
