Tamil actor Bala Singh passed away on Wednesday, at a hospital in Chennai. He was 67.
He is well known for his roles in films like Pudhupettai, Virumaandi, Saamy, Kannathil Muthamittal and more.
Bala Singh started off as a theatre artist after training at the National School of Drama. He got his big break in films through actor Nassar's directorial debut—Avatharam in 1995. In the film starring Nassar and Revathi, Bala Singh played the iconic antagonist Baasi.
Bala's portrayal of Anbu, a local politician, in Pudhupettai is also one of his career-best performances that got him more recognition. He was also seen in Malayalam films like Malamukalile Daivam, Kerala House Udan Vilpanakku and Mulla.
