'My live-in partner threatens me with acid attack,' says transgender actor Anjali Ameer

Anjali says she is on the verge of suicide

South Indian transgender actor Anjali Ameer, who rose to fame with her versatile performance in critically-acclaimed Mammootty-starrer Peranbu, has accused her live-in partner of cheating and intimidation.

During a recent Facebook Live session, Anjali said her partner Anas C.V., a native of Koduvally in Kozhikode, had threatened her with acid attack after she wanted to break up with him. Anjali and Anas have been living together for the past two years.

The actor said she had already lodged a complaint with the police.

“I was in a 'living-together' with somebody. After some issues, now I find it difficult to live with him. But he keeps on threatening me. He says he will pour acid on my face if I refuse to live with him,” the actor said.

Anjali further alleged that Anas owed her nearly four lakh rupees. 

“I don't have both father and mother and he took advantage of the situation,” the actor said, adding that she was on the verge of suicide.

'She is free to walk away'

Meanwhile, Anas said Anjali was free to walk away if she didn't want to live with him. “I stayed with her as she had nobody to support her,” Anas told Manorama News, adding that Anjali was being misguided by her friends.

On the work front, Anjali is all set to play herself in her biopic. According to reports, she will act as a boy and girl in the film that tracks her struggles while growing up, and her career. The film is expected to go on floors next year. 

The actor first made an impact in the minds of audience through her stint with Bigg Boss Malayalam season 1. She is currently pursuing her graduation at Malabar Christian College in Kozhikode.
