'Odiyan' director Shrikumar Menon arrested on complaint of Manju Warrier

Mollywood director Shrikumar Menon, popular for directing the recent Mohanlal-starrer Odiyan, was arrested by Kerala police on Thursday on a complaint filed by actor Manju Warrier for allegedly threatening and defaming her.

According to media reports, the director was questioned by police and was arrested. He was later released.

Shrikumar Menon assured that he will fully cooperate with the investigation.

Earlier, the statement of the actor was recorded and the police carried out raids in the office of the director in Palakkad district of Kerala.

The actor had claimed that the director is in possession of a letterhead which had her signature. She said she fears that he may misuse the letterhead. The police were also trying to recover the letterhead from the director.

Manju Warrier had alleged the director had threatened her and some of her close friends and tried to defame her by orchestrating a hate campaign against her on the social media.

According to media reports, the actor had handed over some digital evidence to the investigators to prove her point.

After the actor filed a complaint against him, Shrikumar Menon, in a Facebook post, Unleashed a scathing attack against the actor, saying she had forgotten all the help and support he had offered during her second coming in the Malayalam industry after several years.
