A video of an old interview of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is currently doing the rounds of social media. What's put the video on the trending list is the part where Khan admits he was once asked by Bollywood legend Dev Anand to act in a film.
“You won’t believe it but I was once I asked by a brilliant Indian actor who we all look up to, to act in one of his upcoming film. In fact, he even turned up in England to request me, but I was puzzled,” Khan said in the video, according to reports. Though he was initially reluctant to name the actor who had approached him, he later admitted it was late actor Dev Anand.
“For me it’s strange, to think that just because I’m a cricketer, doesn’t mean I can be an actor as well. It doesn’t make sense to me. (Indian-origin director) Ismail Merchant also once asked me to act in a film, but again I was puzzled because I can’t act. I couldn’t even act in a school play, let alone a film,” Khan said.
The fact was later revealed in Dev Anand’s autobiography, Romancing with Life, published by the Penguin in 2007.
This piece of interesting news is making the rounds of social media, and even Pakistanis seem to be fascinated with this bit of information about their PM.
