Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone reached out to students of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) who were protesting against the recent violence in the campus in which a group of masked mistreats attacked students and teachers.
Images of the actor arriving at the campus has gone viral on Twitter.

On Monday night, a slew of Bollywood celebrities such as directors Vishal Bhardwaj, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and actors Taapsee Pannu and Richa Chadha turned up at Carter Road in Mumbai in solidarity with those protesting against the violence at the JNU. However, Deepika Padukone appears to be the first Bollywood A lister who have reached out to the stdeunst in the campus to express solidarity.
On Sunday night, masked men armed with sticks and rods ran riot on the JNU campus and attacked students and teachers. Nearly 34 people were injured in the violence.
The incident evoked angry protests, mainly from the student community, across the country.
Meanwhile, none of the other Bollywood biggies—Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan among others—have reacted on the ongoing protests.
