Ever since Doordarshan (DD) decided to bring back classic programmes like Ramayan, Mahabharat and Shaktiman to keep locked down nation entertained, Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha too was in the news as Shaktiman star Mukesh Khanna took a dig at her saying the reruns of the show would help people like Sonakshi who have no knowledge about our mythological sagas.
The Dabangg girl had failed to answer a question on Ramayan, on the TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati some time ago.
It now appears that the actor was fed up with trolls who have been questioning her knowledge in the epic as in a recent Instagram question answer session, she shut down a troll saying, “Lots of you have Ramayan related questions, please watch it on Doordarshan and you will get all your answers. Jai Bajrang Bali!”
Earlier, Shatrughan Sinha, actor-politician and father of Sonakshi, had defended her saying, "I believe someone has problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion.”
Directed by Ramanand Sagar, Ramayana featured Arun Govil as Ram, Deepika Chikhalia as Sita and Sunil Lahri as Lakshman. The show also featured Late Dara Singh as Hanuman and Arvind Trivedi as Ravana. The show was originally telecast from 25 January 1987 to 31 July 1988.
