The allegations and counter-allegations over the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput seems to be getting murkier by the day.
A day after the actor's father K.K. Singh claimed that Mumbai Police were warned about threat to the actor's life way back in February— a charge refuted by the the cops— Maharashtra BJP leader Narayan Rane has come out with a controversial claim that the actor did not commit suicide but was murdered.
According to news agency ANI, the former Maharashtra chief minister also accused the state government of trying to save “someone”. He added that the government is not paying attention to the case.
Questioning the efficiency of the Mumbai Police, Rane asked why even after 50 days of the actor's death the police haven't been able to find the real culprit. Pointing out that Rhea Chakraborty, one of the accused in the case, has been missing from the past few days, he said the Mumbai Police haven't been able to locate her.
Further, he also claimed that the actor's former manager Disha Salian was raped and later murdered. "That Disha Salian was raped was evident from the post-mortem report,” Rane was quoted as saying. The former chief minister said though Salian died on June 8, but her postmortem was conducted only on June 11 "which is surprising".
Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recommended CBI probe into the death of the actor. Sushant’s cousin and BJP MLA Neeraj Bablu had also called for CBI probe.
