Popular Hindi TV series Saath Nibhaana Saathiya may have ended three years ago, but it continues to inspire creativity, proved singer-music producer Yashraj Mukhate.
Mukhate turned a dialogue from the series into a rap song by adding background score and some beats, and made it into a viral sensation. Posting the video of the dialogue-turned-rap bit of the show on Instagram, he wrote: "First World Problems • Made Kokila Ben sing this time • I love doing harmonies, enjoyed this one a lot • Kahi share karoge toh credits zaroor dena. Aapke pyaar ke liye bohot saara dhanyawaad!"
The video shows Kokilaben (Rupal Patel) being upset with her daughter-in-law and scolding her for keeping the cooker on the stove without chickpeas.
The video has been viewed by over 50 lakh people.
While Union minister Smriti Irani shared the video with the caption, "Kya se kya ho gaya dekhte dekhte," Rupal Patel reached out to him and appreciated his effort.
The video catapulted Mukhate to social media stardom. In an interview to the Indian Express, he said he has been getting calls constantly after the video went viral and added that what surprised him most was the call from Rupal Patel herself. " It was an unbelievable experience as I never expected the video would reach her," he was quoted as saying.
He said he never expected the video to go viral. "But now that it has, I am sure people will expect a lot from me. Since they have loved this format, I will work on it more. However, I would also want them to enjoy my original compositions," the Indian Express quoted him as saying.
