Fans of Kollywood actor Suriya have a reason to cheer. Days after the actor took to social media to announce that the release of the movie Soorarai Pottru has been postponed, the official trailer of the movie was dropped on Monday.
The trailer of the movie, scheduled to be released on November 12 on Amazon Prime, has become an instant hit with more than five million views within hours of its release. If the two-minute trailer is anything to go by, the movie promises to be an intriguing and thrilling affair. There is a lot riding on Soorarai Pottru for Suriya as the last two releases of the actor, NGK and Kaappaan, had failed to impress the audience.
Soorarai Pottru is the inspirational story of Air Deccan founder Captain Gorur Ramaswamy Gopinath. The trailer sets the tone of the movie with dialogues like “Can’t a farmer fly in an aeroplane” and “Is sky their property. You land the flight. I shall take care,” giving an indication of the expected action—of a man born and raised in a village chasing his dreams against all odds.
The movie also stars Aparna Balamurali, Urvashi, Paresh Rawal, Karunas, and Mohan Babu.
Directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, Soorarai Pottru, which was scheduled to be released on October 30, was postponed as the production team had to secure certain 'No Objection Certificates' from the Indian Air Force.
A two-part series on making of the movie, released earlier on Amazon Prime, had highlighted the efforts put in by Suriya to play the role of an young Air Force pilot.
