Ever since the release of Soorarai Pottru on Amazon Prime Video, Bommi and her bakery have become household names. While Suriya shouldered the movie, based on Air Deccan founder Captain G.R. Gopinath's Simply Fly, playing Nedumaaran Rajangam (Maara), equally memorable was his wife Sundari aka Bommi, played by Mollywood actor Aparna Balamurali.

Bommi was the proverbial woman behind the man’s (Maara) success, giving him the necessary financial and emotional support to chase his dream. She ran a bakery and was deft at the business. Self-made, independent and feisty, Bommi stood by Maara when he faced setbacks while pursuing his dreams.

Now, Captain G.R. Gopinath on Thursday took to Twitter to appreciate his wife Bhargavi on the occasion of her bakery 'Bun World Iyengar Bakery' celebrating its 25th anniversary. "25 th anniversary Bun World Iyengar Bakery 👏 kudos to a life partner who never let go of her dream," he tweeted.

A few days ago, after watching the movie, Captain Gopinath had praised Aparna Balamurali for the portrayal of the character, Bommi. “The portrayal of my wife Bhargavi by Aparna was very well etched out , of a woman who had her own mind , strong but soft , feisty and fearless and an inspiration to rural women especially who are equal and can be entrepreneurs in their own right,” he had tweeted.
