TV actor Karan Mehra, who was arrested on Monday night for allegedly beating his wife, was granted bail on Tuesday morning. Mehra was produced before a magistrate court in Borivali (west) on Tuesday morning.
Karan’s wife and actress Nisha Rawal approached the police on Monday night and filed a complaint. An FIR was lodged under Sections 336 (act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life or the personal safety of others) and 337 (causing hurt) of the IPC, the NDTV reported.
Karan, 38, is popular for the television show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. His wife Nisha has acted in a few Bollywood films and advertisements. The couple was seen together on television in a dance reality show Nach Baliye.
Karan and Nisha tied the knot on November 24, 2012. The couple have a four-year-old son.
