Wondering what new shows and movies to watch on OTT platforms this week? There are quite a few interesting releases that you can catch up on.

Benedict Cumberbatch-starrer The Courier is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The movie, based on a true story, set during the Cold War, released on August 2. Hotel heiress and reality star Paris Hilton has landed a cooking show Cooking with Paris also dropped on Netflix on August 4. The series will see Hilton learning to "saute, sear, and zest" and also show off her party-throwing skills. "She's turning the traditional cooking show upside down. She's not a trained chef and she's not trying to be. With the help of her celebrity friends, she navigates new ingredients, new recipes and exotic kitchen appliances," Netflix had said in the release. Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami, a documentary mini series chronicling the life of two powerful drug kingpins in Miami, dropped on Netflix on August 4. The Kings of Miami dives deeper into the real-life stories of Cuban exiles Salvador “Sal” Magluta and Augusto “Willy” Falcon-- supposedly America’s greatest distributors for Colombia’s biggest drug cartels. They were accused of bringing in more than 75 tons of cocaine into the US in the 1980s.

The Tamil anthology, produced by Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan, is based on the nine ‘rasas’ (human emotions) - anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace and wonder. The nine films have been directed by Arvind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Karthick Naren, Karthik Subbaraj, Priyadarshan, Rathindran Prasad, Sarjun, and Vasanth Sai. This also marks Arvind Swami's directorial debut. 

Arvind Swami, Suriya, Siddharth, Vijay Sethupathi, Prakash Raj, Saravanan, Alagam Perumal, Revathy, Nithya Menen, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Aishwarya Rajessh, Poorna, Riythvika, Prasanna, Vikranth, Simha, Gautham Karthik, Ashok Selvan, Robo Shankar, Ramesh Thilak, Sananth, Vidhu and Sreeram play prominent characters in the anthology.

All the artistes worked pro-bono for the project that is aimed to generate funds for those struggling in the industry amid the pandemic.

The Bollywood thriller featuring Manoj Bajpayee in the lead is directed by Rensil D’Silva. The movie is backed by Sony Pictures Films India in collaboration with filmmaker Siddharth P Malhotra and Sapna Malhotra’s Alchemy Films. The movie also features Neena Gupta and Sakshi Tanwar. The plot unfolds one night when one call turns everyone’s lives upside down.

A Big Little Murder: Netflix

A documentary probe into India's first high-profile school killing that sent shockwaves across the country in 2017. The body of a seven-year-old boy was found in the washroom of his Gurugram school in September 2017. Though a bus conductor was arrested initially, the CBI charged a 11th grader of the same school with murder. The bus conductor was later found to be innocent. The docu looks the inside stories of this incident that had grabbed national attention.

Vivo: Netflix

Release date: August 6

Sony Pictures Animation brings a musical adventure with Vivo. The film follows a one-of-a-kind kinkajou named Vivo, who spends his days playing music to the crowds in a lively Havana square with his beloved owner Andrés. Lin-Manuel Miranda voices the title character in the cast that also features the voices of Ynairaly Simo, Zoe Saldana, Juan de Marcos González, Michael Rooker, Brian Tyree Henry, Nicole Byer, and Gloria Estefan.
