Tamil actor and TV host Anandha Kannan passed away on Monday night. He was 48. A few months ago, he was diagnosed with bile-duct cancer and had been undergoing treatment for the same since then, the News Minute stated in a report.
Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu shared the news of his death on Twitter. He tweeted a photograph of Anandha Kannan and wrote, “A great friend a great human is no more!! #RIPanandakannan my deepest condolences.”

Anandha Kannan started his career with Vasantham TV in Singapore. He later shifted base to Chennai and worked with Sun Music. In television, Anandha Kannan acted in lead roles in Sindubad and Kadhal Channel in 2012. He has also featured in films like Saroja, Adisaya Ulagam. He has anchored the five seasons of Savaal Singapore.
Anandha Kannan has won several awards-- he was awarded the International Youth Icon at World Universities Tamil Conference in 2013 and ‘Best Actor’ in Television Actors Guild Award (South India). He has also won ‘Best Host’ in 2011 for Savaal Singapore.
