Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut paid tribute to V.D. Savarkar and took a dig at the 'Tukde Tukde Gang' on her visit to Kala Pani jail. Kangana is in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for the shoot of her next film, Tejas, and had paid a visit to the cell where former hindutva activist Savarkar was imprisoned.
Taking to Instagram, she shared pictures of her sitting by Savarkar’s photo. “I was shaken to the core… when inhumanity was at its peak even humanity rose to its peak in the form of Savarkar ji and looked it in the eye, faced every cruelty with resistance and determination,” she wrote in the caption.
“How scared they must have been of him not only did they keep him in Kala Paani, in those days it must be impossible to escape from this tiny island in the middle of the sea yet they put chains on him built a thick-walled jail and locked him up in a tiny hole, imagine the fear as if he can fly on thin air across the never-ending sea, what cowards!”
An hour later, she shared an Instagram story attacking the 'Tukde Tukde gang', Pakistan, China and Khalistan supporters.
“This is the price of Akhand Bharat they paid. Do we value it enough… I want to ask Tukde gang, Pakistan, China and Khalistan supporters! They didn’t get Akhand Bharat for you to do tukde or enslave again by China or Jihadis.”
'Tukde tukde gang' is a term used by supporters of the BJP referring to critics of the Centre who allegedly support sedition and secessionalism.
Kangana has on several occasions criticised those critics. She famously lashed out at fellow Bollywood star Deepika Padukone for showing solidarity with protesting Jawaharlal Nehru University students in January 2020.
Kangana recently wrapped up the shoot for Dhaakad, which is set to release on April 8, 2022. She is now in the Andamans to shoot Tejas, in which she plays a fighter pilot. The movie is directed and written by Sarvesh Mewara.
