The 64th Annual Grammy Awards were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year, the event was delayed from January to April because of the rise in Covid-19 cases due to Omicron variant.

Jon Batiste — who was nominated for 11 Grammys — was the big winner, picking up five trophies, including album of the year for “We Are.” Bruno Mars-led Silk Sonic won two of the big awards at the Grammys 2022 - Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Olivia Rodrigo won Best New Artist and Best Pop Solo Performance. Indian composer Ricky Kej won his second Grammy.

The ceremony, hosted by Trevor Noah, saw an appearance by Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy through a recorded video message. “Our musicians wear body armour instead of tuxedos,” he said. “We are fighting Russia, which brings horrible silence with its bombs.
