As we draw closer to end of the year, IMDb has released its list of top 10 most popular Indian series of 2022. Amazon Prime Video’s Panchayat topped the list which includes much-loved titles like Delhi Crime and Rocket Boys.

According to reports, the list looked at all the web series released in the country between January 1 and November 7 with an average IMDb user rating of 7 or higher and at least 10,000 votes.

The top 10 shows are: Panchayat, Delhi Crime, Rocket Boys, Human, Apharan, Gullak, NCR Days, Abhay, Campus Diaries and College Romance.

With a rating of 8.9, Jitendra Kumar-starrer Panchayat is set in a village of Uttar Pradesh. It revolves around a UPSC aspirant, essayed by Kumar, who ends up working at the panchayat office. Two seasons of the show, also starring Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav in key roles, were received well by audience and critics.

In season 2 of Netflix’s critically-acclaimed Delhi Crime, Shefali Shah returned as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi to investigate yet another crime in the national capital. The first season, which premiered in 2019, followed the Nirbhaya gangrape of 2012 that shook the nation.

IMDb also shared the list of top 10 popular Indian movies of 2022. No prizes for guessing which film topped the list. Rajamouli’s RRR rules the list, followed by The Kashmir Files and KGF: Chapter 2.  Rajamouli's period action film RRR has scooped nominations in two categories at the upcoming Golden Globe Awards—Best Picture (Non-English) and Best Original Song - Motion Picture. RRR follows a pre-Independence fictional story woven around two real-life Indian revolutionaries—Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem—in the 1920s.

The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, was one of the most debated films this year. Most recently, the film was in the news over Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid's comments on the film, calling it a "piece of propaganda".

The other Indian films on the list are Vikram, Kantara, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Major, Sita Ramam, Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 777 Charlie .
