The big win for S S Rajamouli's blockbuster 'RRR' at the Golden Globes has brought cheers to fans and film lovers all over the country, who erupted in joy as 'Naatu Naatu' won the award for the Best Original Song.

While the official handles of RRR Movie shared the video showing Rajamouli and the team breaking into celebrations as Wednesday actress Jenny Ortega announced the award, many in the country too took to social media to celebrate the win.

"INDIAAAAAAAA… THIS IS THE BEST NEWS to WAKE UP TO!! Naatu Naatu becomes the first ever Asian song to win a Golden Globe,” read the tweet from the film’s team," tweeted the official handle of RRR Movie.

Veteran actor Chiranjeevi too heaped praise on M M Keeravani’s Golden Globe win. He tweeted, "Golden Globes Best Original Song – Motion Picture Award to @mmkeeravaani garu!! Take a Bow! Heartiest Congratulations Team @RRRMovie and @ssrajamouli!! India is proud of you! #NaatuNaatu"

Grand entrance

Earlier in the day, the RRR team was seen making a grand red carpet appearance. While Rajamouli opted for a black Indian Kurti and dhoti with a red shawl, Ram Charan too followed suit in a black Indian outfit. Rajamouli was accompanied by his wife Rama Rajamouli while Ram Charan was with his wife Upasana Kamineni.

However, NTR Jr chose to wear a tuxedo as his wife Lakshmi Pranathi wore a black gown.

Prior to making the entrance, Ram Charan had shared a group picture of the team on his Instagram. He captioned it: "THE #RRR FAMILY! On the way to the GOLDEN GLOBES @goldenglobes (sic)" the actor wrote in the caption.

Film's music composer M M Keeravani and producer Shobu Yarlagadda also accompanied.

On the red carpet, Ram Charan said it was a surreal moment for the film's team to receive two Golden Globes nominations. "I have no words to explain all the hard work the whole team has put in. Coming from the south of India to the Mecca of films and being appreciated, it just gives us more energy to come back and do better films," he told entertainment news outlet The Hollywood Reporter.

The 37-year-old actor said he would love to work with one of the top directors in Hollywood. "I want them to experience us and the world coming together. The cinema is coming together. There's a lot of downside to the pandemic, but the upside is that we all have been exposed to a lot of films across the globe," Ram Charan added.

Jr NTR said the massive success of "RRR" was something that the team never expected.

"With Rajamouli, taking his track record into consideration, we definitely thought we had a winner. But this will be something more than a winner just a winner. Japan and today America, you don't expect this to happen," the 39-year-old actor told the entertainment news website Variety.
