The Kerala Film Producers' Association (KFPA) and Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) have decided not to work with Mollywood actors Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi in the wake of complaints from several movie producers.
According to media reports, the decision was taken at a meeting organised by FEFKA, KFPA and the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) on Tuesday.
Producer M Renjith alleged that the two actors were often found under the influence of drugs on movie sets, creating problems for producers, cast, and crew on the sets.
AMMA general secretary Edavela Babu claimed that the allegations against the two actors are true and added that the forum will submit a list of actors who are under the influence of drugs to the government.
Industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai tweeted that the forums decided to ban the actors due to constant “bad behaviour and trouble on the sets”.
"#Malayalam film industry associations - #FEFKA, #KeralaFilmProducers & #Amma jointly decided to ban popular actors #ShaneNigam & #SreenathBhasi from forthcoming films due to constant “bad behaviour and trouble on the sets,” he wrote.
The film associations further said they will not cooperate with actors who are under the influence of drugs on sets or are not disciplined. The producers alleged that Sreenath Bhasi gave the same dates to multiple films, causing huge losses to the producers.
Shane Nigam had recently courted controversy when he walked out of the sets of the upcoming movie 'RDX'.
