Trailer of 'Gadar 2' released, Sunny Deol's Tara Singh looks as fierce as ever

The teaser of Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, a sequel to the 2001 Bollywood film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha dropped on Monday. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel reprise their roles as Tara Singh and Sakeena in the Anil Sharma directorial which will take the audience to 1971, to the days of war between India and Pakistan, that led to the liberation of Bangladesh.

The one-minute trailer shows Sunny's Tara Singh ready for action. The teaser begins with a voice-over, reminding the audience of Tara's connection with Pakistan through his marriage to Sakeena. We catch a glimpse of Tara Singh in Lahore at a time when posters that read 'Crush India' are seen everywhere. We also witness his emotional side as he sits with tears in his eyes at a burial ground.

Tara Singh looks as fierce as he was in the first film 22 years ago, with a full beard, kurta pyjama, and a turban around his neck, ready for battle. Although the teaser did not feature Sakeena (Ameesha Patel), a snippet of the popular song 'Udd ja kale kawa' can be heard at the end.

The makers have retained the iconic song 'Ghar aa ja pardesi' from the original Gadar soundtrack.

Gadar 2 has already generated immense excitement among fans, as they are eager to see how the story progresses after the events in the first film.

Produced by Zee Cinemas, Gadar 2 also stars Utkarsh Sharma in a lead role. The film is scheduled to release on August 11.
