Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran sustained an injury on his leg while shooting for an action sequence on the sets of Vilayath Buddha on Sunday, according to reports.
The actor is set to undergo a keyhole surgery at a private hospital in Kochi on Monday, and will take a short break from work to recover, reports stated.
The shooting of the film directed by Jayan Nambiyar will be put on hold for a few months, Indian Express reported. The film also features Anu Mohan and Priyamvada Krishnan. Vilayath Buddha is said to revolve around the conflict between two individuals over the ownership of a sandalwood tree.
Prithviraj will next be seen in director Blessy's Aadujeevitham, in which he underwent stunning physical transformation to essay the role of an immigrant worker forced into labour on a goat farm in Saudi Arabia. The film, based on Benyamin's book by the same name, is one of the most anticipated releases this year.
He will also be seen in Prabhas's upcoming big-budget film Salaar, helmed by Prashant Neel.
