The Hunt for Veerappan: Netflix

One of the much-awaited releases this week, the true-crime docuseries traces the rise and fall of infamous bandit Veerappan who operated from the dense forest areas of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The decades-long hunt for the notorious outlaw, also known as 'Robinhood of India, was one of the most challenging tasks for both the states involved. As per the synopsis, The Hunt for Veerappan delves into the unseen and unheard, presenting firsthand accounts from individuals close to Veerappan and those who tirelessly sought to capture him. The four-part series is helmed by debutant Selvamani Selvaraj.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3: Disney plus Hotstar

The Marvel blockbuster, which released in theatres in May, is another interesting release this week. The James Gunn-directorial will see the band of misfits -- Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Drax (Dave Bautista) and Groot (Vin Diesel)-- settling into life on Knowhere.
Choona: Netflix

The Jimmy Shergill-starrer series is a heist comedy written and directed by Pushpendra Nath Misra. The show revolves around six small-time average joes, fuelled by their burning desire for revenge, come up with the plan of a radical heist. Choona also features Aashim Gulati, Vikram Kochhar, Chandan Roy, Namit Das, Gyanendra Tripathi, Atul Srivastava, Monika Panwar and Niharika Lyra Dutt.
Dhoomam: Amazon Prime Video

Dhoomam, Hombale Films's debut in Mollywood, is set for OTT release after it failed to make a mark at the box office. Starring Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balamurali, the thriller revolves around the marketing head of a tobacco company, and his wife, who are kidnapped. The film directed by Kannada filmmaker Pawan Kumar also features Vineeth, Roshan Mathew among others.
