After a week jam-packed with festive releases, this week, too, brings a handful of much-awaited movies and shows in theatres and on OTT platforms. A quick look at all that's arriving this week.

Goldfish: Theatres

Release date: September 1

Featuring Kalki Koechlin and Deepti Naval, the London-based film revolves around the bitter-sweet relationship of a mother and daughter as they navigate issues of memory, identity and mental health. Directed by Pushan Kriplani, the film had its world premiere at the Cannes festival in May.

Kushi: Theatres

Release date: September 1

The much-awaited Telugu romantic drama features Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda in the lead. Written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, the inter-faith love story is set in Kashmir. The film also features Jayaram, Sachin Khedakar, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna and Saranya. This is Samantha's second collboration with Nirvana after 2019's Majili.

The Equalizer 3: Theatres

Release date: September 1

The action thriller is set in southern Italy where Denzel Washington's Robert McCall takes on the mafia to protect his dear ones. Also featuring Dakota Fanning, this is the final installment of he high-octane action franchise.

Scam 2003: The Telgi Story – SonyLiv

Release date: September 1

Directed by Hansal Mehta and Tushar Hiranandani, the series is based on the true story of Abdul Kumar Telgi, who pulled off one of India's biggest scams by printing fake stamp paper. The scandal worth Rs 30,000 crore had its impact across the country, leading to Telgi arrest in 2001 and conviction in 2007. Well-known theatre actor Gagan Dev Riar essays the role of Telgi in the series. This is the second in the 'Scam' franchise, after Mehta's critically-acclaimed Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story.

Friday Night Plan: Netflix

Release date: September 1

Billed as a heartwarming family film, Friday Night Plan revolves around two young brothers who plan to attend a late night party while their mother is away from home. The film that explores their misadventures that night features Babil Khan, Juhi Chawla and Amrith Jayan in the lead. Babil, who made his acting debut last year with Netflix's Qala said this film about siblings was relatable for him.
