Excitement is at its peak among Bigg Boss fans—Bollywood star Salman Khan will open the doors of the BB house this Sunday. Ahead of season 17 of the much-awaited reality show, there are multiple speculations about confirmed contestants.

While the names of a number of celebrities have been doing the rounds, a report stated that former journalist Jigna Vora, whose real-life story inspired the much-talked-about Netflix series Scoop, is also set to enter the house. Sources close to Indian Express confirmed Vora's participation in Bigg Boss 17.

A Mumbai-based crime reporter, Vora made headlines when she was arrested for her alleged role in the murder of senior crime journalist J Dey in 2011. She was accused of conspiring with gangster Chhota Rajan to kill the Mid-Day journalist. While Rajan was sentenced to life imprisonment, Vora was acquitted seven years after the killing. She later penned a memoir title Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison, detailing her harrowing experiences in prison. Scoop, based on the book, was helmed by filmmaker Hansal Mehta. Karishma Tanna essayed the lead role in the Netflix series which featured Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Harman Baweja, and Prosenjit Chatterjee in supporting roles.

In October, the series won the award for the Best Asian TV series at the Busan Film Festival. Speaking to Zoom, Vora said she was glad people finally know the truth through Scoop and added that common people could connect with her after knowing the story of her struggle.

After battling the worst phase of her life, Vora is now reportedly a tarot reader and healer.

Standup comedian Munawar Faruqui, winner of Kangana Ranaut-hosted reality show Lock Upp, is also among the contestants of BB17, reports state. The comedian was arrested for allegedly hurting religious sentiments in one of his shows.
