Just a day ahead of Vijay's much-awaited Leo, actor-producer and Tamil Nadu sports minister Udhayanidhi Stalin posted a review of the actioner. Udhayanidhi, who watched a special screening of Leo, praised Lokesh Kanagaraj for his filmmaking.

However, it is something else that caught the eye of Vijay fans—Udhayanidhi mentioned Lokesh Cinema Universe (LCU) in his post on X. He wrote: "Thalabathy @actorvijay Anna’s #Leo @Dir_Lokesh excellent filmmaking, @anirudhofficial music, @anbariv master @7screenstudio #LCU! All the best team ! (sic)."

The mention of LCU has fans excited amid speculations whether the Vijay-starrer iwill indeed be part of the franchise. In an earlier interview, however, Lokesh had stated Leo could be a standalone film even though he had discussed the LCU possibility with Vijay.

The LCU, a collection of films directed by Lokesh, currently features only two films—Kaithi and Vikram. If Leo is part of the LCU, it remains to be seen what elements from the previous films will be incorporated into the upcoming gangster drama. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see if any of the charcters from Kaithi or Vikram will make a suprise appearance in Leo.

The film boasts of an ensemble cast featuring Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Mysskin and Gautam Menon among others. Leo, co-written by Rathna Kumar and Deeraj Vaidy, also features music by Anirudh Ravichander.
