The King Khan dropped the trailer of Dunki on Instagram today. The movie starring Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Vikram Kocchar, and Anil Grover, is set to release on December 21. The trailer promises a high-octane comedy-drama.
It follows the story of four friends who want to go to London. It unveils Shah Rukh's look as an old man in the future. The story begins in the town of Laltu, says Hardayal Singh Dhillon, at the beginning of the trailer and goes on to introduce the four main characters of the film. The film, which is the first collaboration between Shah Rukh and director Rajkumar Hirani, promises to be a roller-coaster of emotions.
A teaser and a song from the film were released recently. This would be Khan's third movie for the year after super hit movies Pathaan and Jawan. Shah Rukh, in the trailer, goes on to say, “Why would anyone want to leave their home, friends and loved ones to go to a foreign land?” The line seems to imply that people would leave their homes only out of desperation. Fans seem to be loving the trailer. “Wow, seems to be a good one,” wrote one fan. “This is simply incredible story, action, absorbing and full recreational with touch millions of hearts,” another fan wrote. And another fan commented, “Next blockbuster.”
The ending seems poignant, where it looks like one of the gang loses his life. Shah Rukh says, “The British came to the country 150 years ago. We didn't ask them if they knew Hindi. What right do they have to ask if we know English?”
Pannu was last seen in movies like Blurr and Tadka. Kaushal's Sam Bahadur was released on December 1.
