From superhero flicks and science fiction thrillers to animation spectaculars and musical comedies, Hollywood has a wide range of movies lined up for release in 2024. There is definitely much enthusiasm among fans as the line-up include some much-awaited works like Deadpool 3 and Kung Fu Panda 4.

Deadpool 3
For the Marvel fans out there, Ryan Reynolds will be seen reprising his role in the Deadpool franchise along with Hugh Jackman returning to Marvel movies as Wolverine. Though Deadpool is a Marvel comic character, this is the first time the movie is being produced by Marvel Cinematic Universe. The previous editions of Deadpool were produced by 20th Century Fox. The film will also see Jennifer Garner reprising the character Elektra. The action thriller, directed by Shawn Levy, is slated to be released on July 26.
Mean Girls
An adaptation of the 2004 comedy film with the same name, Mean Girls will see Tina Fey reprising the role of Ms. Nosbury in the original. The movie, which is a musical comedy, is directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr. and the screenplay is by Fey. Mean Girls is produced under the banner of Paramount Pictures. The movie will hit theatres on January 12.
Dune: Part 2
A sequel to the 2021 film Dune (2021), this science fiction thriller will see Paul Atreides undertaking a mythical journey and uniting with Chani and Fremen to take on those who harmed his family. The cast includes Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgard, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh and Lea Seydoux. The film is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts. Dune: Part 2 will be released on March 1.
Argylle
Argylle is a spy action thriller directed and produced by the Kingsman director Matthew Vaughan and written by Jason Fuchs. The film revolves around Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard) who is the author of bestselling spy novels and loves to spend her time in the comfort of her home with her pet cat, Alfie. Things go sideways when her novels unwittingly reflect and uncover the activities of a real-life spy organisation. That’s when Adrian ( Henry Cavill ) shows up to rescue her from being kidnapped or killed. The star-studded cast includes Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, and Samuel L. Jackson. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on February 2.
Kung Fu Panda 4
The fourth installment of the Kung Fu Panda franchise, produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures, will hit the theatres on March 8. The movie revolves around Po embarking on a new journey to find his successor as the new Dragon warrior. The animated film is directed by Mike Mitchell and the cast includes Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman, and David Cross. New characters will be introduced in the film as actors Awkwafina, Viola Davis, and Ke Huy Quan are seen joining the cast.
Mufasa: The Lion King
Produced by Walt Disney and Pastel Productions, this is a prequel to the animated movie The Lion King. The film explores the origin of Mufasa, the rise of one of the greatest kings of the Pride lands. Mufasa: The Lion King is directed by Oscar winner Barry Jenkins and the voice cast includes Seth Rogen (Pumbaa), Billy Eichner (Timon), Aaron Pierre( Mufasa), Kelvin Harrison Jr. (Taka), John Kani ( Rafiki). The film will be released on December 20.
