Actor Amitabh Bachchan, took to Instagram to announce the release date of Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. The movie directed by Nag Ashwin will be released on May 9. “The story that ended 6000 years ago. Begins May 9, 2024,” Bachchan wrote, sharing a still from the film, in which it looks like Prabhas is standing under a spaceship.
The movie which also stars Sr. Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, is being produced by Vyjayanthi Films. Ahead of announcing the film's release date on social media, the film's crew dressed up in soldier costumes and strolled in public places holding posters with the film's release date.
The movie was first announced over three years ago. The making of the magnum opus cost Rs 600 crore-- it is the most expensive Indian movie made. The film will be released in two parts. The movie has been shot in Telugu and Hindi; the music is by Santhosh Narayanan and the cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic.
