Yami Gautam's Article 370 banned in all Gulf countries

Recently, Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter was banned in Gulf countries

Yami Gautam's political film, Article 370 is doing well at the domestic box office and abroad. The movie, has, however, been banned in all Gulf countries. The movie, which has been garnering praise, is about human experiences in the state of Jammu & Kashmir after the government abrogated Article 370. Gautam plays Intelligence Officer Zooni Haksar in the film.

The movie, directed by Aditya Jambhale, was produced by Lokesh and Aditya Dhar, and Jyoti Deshpande. Aditya Dhar is actor Yami Gautam's husband. The movie delves into the challenges people face amidst a complex socio-political setting.

In August 2019, the Central government abrogated Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu & Kashmir. Following this, the state was bifurcated into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a gathering in Jammu, mentioned the film and said, "I have heard that a film on Article 370 is going to be released this week... It is a good thing as it will help people in getting correct information."

Considering that Indian tourists to Gulf countries make up a significant amount, and several Indian movies are shot there, the ban comes as a surprise. Recently, Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter was banned in Gulf countries. Reportedly, the film was banned due to 'some objectionable content'.
