Tamil actor Daniel Balaji passed away on March 29 night, after suffering from a heart attack. He was, reportedly, rushed to a private hospital in Kottivakam in Chennai, where he breathed his last.
Balaji's body has, reportedly, been taken to his residence in Purasaiwalkam for final rites. The actor had pledged to donate his eyes, which was fulfilled by his family members and the doctors.
Balaji started his career as a unit production manager in Kamal Haasan's unfinished project, Marudhunayagam. He also acted in television serials, including the memorable role of 'Daniel' in Radikaa Sarathkumar's 'Chithhi'. It earned him the screen name, Daniel Balaji.
In 2002, he made his film debut with April Madhathil. The 48-year-old actor shot to fame with films like Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, Vada Chennai, Kaakha Kaakha and Bairavaa, among others. He also starred in Malayalam films like Daddy Cool, Black and Bhagavan, and Kannada and Telugu films, too.
His demise has come as a huge shock for the film fraternity in Tamil Nadu. Film analyst Sreedhar Pillai took to his X handle to share the news of Balaji’s demise.
