Actor Kit Harington, who played the character of Jon Snow in the hit series, Game of Thrones, said a spinoff series based around his character is no longer in development as the team couldn't find the right story.

Harington's character amassed a significant fan following. Harrington's brooding warrior was one of the pivotal characters, in the HBO epic fantasy. It was reported in June 2022 that HBO was developing a Jon Snow spin-off with Harington in talks to reprise the role, according to PTI. The role won him two Emmy nominations.

Harington, in an interview with ScreenRant, said, the team “couldn’t find the right story to tell.” In 2022, when talks of developing a spin-off were in talks, the writer of the book the fantasy series is based on shared that it was Harington, who had brought the idea to him and that the actor had brought in his own team of writers for the proposed show too.

In Game of Thrones, it is eventually revealed that Jon Snow was to be the true king of Kings Landing, the true heir to the Iron Throne. But, his character ends up being exiled and he goes on to live among the Wildlings with his dire wolf, Ghost. Harington will soon be seen in the film, 'Blood for Dust'. Post "Game of Thrones", Harington has appeared in a superhero movie "Eternals" and "Baby Ruby", as well as shows like "Modern Love" and "Extrapolations," a PTI report reads.

Post the Game of Thrones, HBO continued with the franchise, and developed a prequel called House of the Dragon. Another spin-off show, titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, will soon go into production.
