Malayalam actor Nimisha Sajayan, best known for her roles in "The Great Indian Kitchen" and "Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum", is facing a condemnable cyber attack from pro-BJP handles following the Lok Sabha election results were declared on Tuesday. Veteran Malayalam actor and former Rajya Sabha MP Suresh Gopi had registered a historic win from the Thrissur constituency of Kerala, becoming the first from the saffron party to win from the southern state.
Nimisha Sajayan's Facebook page has been flooded with countless comments from BJP cyber handles since the results came out. From morphed trolls to sexist remarks and abuses, the organised cyber attack is being led by fake accounts favouring the BJP politically.

Nimisha, one of the few politically vocal cinema artists, had earlier commented on Suresh Gopi's defeat from Thrissur seat in 2019. It was during an anti-Citizenship Amemndment Act (CAA) rally in Kochi that the "Poacher" actor cocked a snook at the BJP's defeat in Thrissur. Ahead of the general elections, Suresh Gopi in a campaign had famously said, "I want Thrissur, you (the voters) should give me Thrissur..."
Nimisha, hinting at this remark said, "We didn't give them even Thrissur. Then will we give thm the whole of India? We won't!"
This remark is said to have triggered the BJP cyberwing to launch a vengeful attack on her following a favourable results in the just-declared Lok Sabha results. Nimisha Sajayan was forced to turn off the comment section of her Facebook page following the relentless cyber attack.

Suresh Gopi polled 4,12,338 votes in Thrissur while runner-up VS Sunil Kumar of CPI got 3,37,652. K Muraleedharan of the Congress finished third polling 3,28,124. TN Prathapan of Congress had won from Thrissur in 2019 beating Rajaji Mathew Thomas of CPI by a margin of 93,633 votes. Prathapan, who didn't contest this time, polled 415,089 votes while third-placed Suresh Gopi managed only 2,93,822.
The Congress-led UDF won 18 of Kerala's 20 seats while the LDF and NDA got one seat each.
