Four years after their marriage, former Kannada Bigg Boss contestants and actors Chandan Shetty and Niveditha Gowda have filed for mutual divorce. The duo at a family court in Bengaluru with mutual consent. The duo appeared before a Bengaluru family court on Friday to commence the mediation process.
According to local media reports, Chandan Shetty has confirmed the news of their separation, saying that they intend to part ways in light of differences existing between them. However, neither of them has made an official comment on the development to date.
It was in February 2020 that Chandan Shetty and Niveditha Gowda got married -- three years after the Big Boss season they were part of aired. The wedding ceremony was a grand ceremony that was attended by many personalities from Sandalwood.
Chandan Shetty and Niveditha Gowda first met as rival contestants at Bigg Boss season 5, the popular reality television show. However, they developed a camaraderie inside the BB house and gradually became close friends. Chandan Shetty walked away as the winner of the season, while Nivedita Gowda was the third runner-up.
Later, Niveditha and Chandan's relationship turned romantic and the actor proposed to Niveditha Gowda at Yuva Dasara stage in Mysuru.
A One India report claimed that the couple expressed their mutual consent to the divorce under Section 13B of the Family Court Act. This means that they opted for an amicable resolution without levying any allegations against each other.
Multifaceted talent Chandan Shetty is a music composer, lyricist, singer and TV celebrity. Niveditha Gowda broke into the television industry through modelling. She is also active on social media.
