The ongoing probe against popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, in a case of alleged murder has thrown up some shocking details.
Renukaswamy (33) was allegedly killed by Darshan and his associates for derogatory social media remarks against the actor's friend Pavithra Gowda.
According to police sources, Pavithra Gowda instigated Darshan to punish Renukaswamy for his lewd remarks following which a plan was hatched against him.
"Darshan engaged the Chitradurga unit of Darshan Fan Club Convenor Raghavendra alias Raghu, who obtained all information about Renukaswamy." news agency PTI quoted sources as saying.
Renukaswamy's wife Sahana said Raghavendra picked up her husband on Friday night from near their house. He was then taken to a shed in Kamakshipalya area in Bengaluru.

"Darshan beat up Renukaswamy with a belt. After he fell unconscious, his accomplices thrashed him with sticks. Further, they threw him against a wall, which proved fatal," the police sources said. According to them, there were multiple bone fractures all over his body.
After Renukaswamy died, the accused dumped his body in a stormwater drain.
When the police began the investigation, two of the accused came forward, claiming that they killed Renukaswamy over a financial dispute. As the investigation progressed, police found out Darshan and Pavithra Gowda were involved in the murder.
Meanwhile, Darshan has been remanded to six days' police custody by a court.
