Rose, one of the members of the K-pop girl group Blackpink, is in talks to join the record company, The Black Label, according to the agency.

"We are currently discussing the issue over the contract," The Black Label stated on Monday after reports claimed that Rose is going solo.

The Black Label, an associate company of YG Entertainment that launched Blackpink, was founded by Teddy, a producer under YG. The label is known for a top-notch lineip including BigBang's Taeyang and Jeon Somi as well as actors like Lee Jong-won and Park Bo-gum.

YG Entertainment had earlier announced that Blackpink would not renew their individual contracts.

Proving herself a solo artist, Rose's songs, 'Gone' and 'On The Ground', have surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify in 2024. After a four-year rigorous training under YG Entertainment, she debuted with Blackpink in 2016.

Her solo career began in 2021 with her debut single 'R', which sold 4.5 lakh copies in the first week. 'On The Ground', the lead single from 'R', is the most viewed music video in 24 hours and is still one of the fan-favourites.

Other Blackpink members have also established their solo careers with Jisoo under Blissoo, Jennie under Odd Atelier and Lisa under Lloud.
